Chateau Week continues here on the blog with the second in a three-part series of Virtual Visits treating the history of the Louvre. In this visit, we'll focus on the modern history of the palace, looking specifically at the modifications, additions, and destructions to the building from the time of the French Revolution through to today.
As always, a note: the primary venue for this content is the stories feature on my Instagram page. All of the virtual visits will be saved in my story highlights. The purpose of the blog posts is to allow a greater audience (especially those without social media accounts) to benefit from the same content.
See you back here on Friday for a deeper dive into the history of the Musée du Louvre, which will include a look at the origins of the museum's collections as well as an exploration of the evolution of the museum itself.
